Worry is like
having one’s hair
cut in the dark.
Not knowing
the outcome
yet not bold enough
to make some remark.
Too short?
Wrong color?
Beginning to
get flustered.
Dripping with hairspray
on a warm,
summer’s day.
Too busy to relax.
Too busy to play.
Spooky and pitch-black.
Worry is like that.
Matthew 6:25 says
“Therefore I tell you,
do not worry
about your life,
what you will
eat or drink;
or about your body,
what you will wear.
Is not life
more than food,
and the body
more than clothes.”
