My daddy was a sailor man. He liked to ride the waves.
But when the tides came rolling in, he clutched his heart and prayed.
When the clouds blew over his ship and cast their darkness there,
and thunder rolled like a pair of dice thrown hard and without a care,
my daddy puffed upon his pipe and exhaled with all his might.
The water calmed, and the sun emerged from beneath the fluffy whites.
Smiling bright, smoke filled up the sky with the most beautiful of lights,
and now that my daddy’s work was done, he bid the seas goodnight.
